If you’ve ever wondered how frogs survive the harsh Canadian winter, or how beavers digest the wood from trees, now there’s a place you can call: Wild Files! Technology, television and science converge in WildFiles.TV, the new, interactive 13-part science and nature series produced by Edmonton’s Reel Girls Media Inc.
“Feather of Hope”, the first episode of WildFiles.TV, airs Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. on ACCESS Television in conjunction with a web-cast on SciQ (www.sciq.ca), followed by a live Q&A with the episodes’ hosts, young actor, scientific consultants and a group of grade nine science students.
In each WildFiles.TV episode, kids with questions call hosts Chris and Ava at the Wild Files research station, and set off on a quest to observe critters in their natural habitat. Viewers can interact with the series on the new media component, www.wildfiles.tv, by sending questions for experts or hosts, browsing the Wildlife Files, becoming a backyard scientist, or writing for the e-Zine, Wildfiles.tv news.
